What got you into coaching?
My long history in athletics, both participating and coaching, made me realize I love teaching others how to improve not just physically, but mentally as well. I want clients to know that I’m not only there to guide them through workouts, but also as someone they can talk to when they need support or a listening ear.

How do you help someone feel less intimidated on day one?
It starts with a warm welcome. Entering a new environment can feel intimidating, so as a coach, I emphasize how welcoming the gym community is and help new members feel like they belong right away.

What’s one myth about training you wish you could erase?
That you already have to be in shape to work with a trainer. As coaches, it’s our job to help clients build confidence and strength gradually, using appropriate exercise loads to make every workout both safe and challenging.

What’s your philosophy when supporting a woman who’s new to training?
I emphasize that physical changes take time and consistency. Everyone starts somewhere, and no one reaches their goals after just one day of training. Building a strong foundation and staying consistent is key.

What’s your proudest coaching moment?
One of my proudest moments was seeing one of my very first clients reach their goal weight. They had struggled to maintain their results in the past, but through consistent effort and mental determination, they were able to lose the weight and keep it off. It was incredibly rewarding to see their hard work pay off.
